Score breakdown

Psychiatrist brothers Ira and Don Morganstern founded ICANotes in Annapolis, Maryland, in 1999.
A clinician builds a note by choosing from menus of symptoms, findings, and interventions, and ICANotes writes the text. A progress note takes a few minutes and has the detail payers look for in audits.
It includes more than 100 rating scales, treatment plans, group therapy notes, e-prescribing with prescription drug monitoring checks, scheduling, a patient portal, telehealth, and billing. It also offers an AI scribe that drafts notes from the session.
ICANotes says more than 20,000 clinicians use it. Sheridan Capital Partners invested in December 2025, and a second generation of the Morganstern family leads the business.
Valant fits an outpatient practice or intensive outpatient program that wants measurement-based care and AI notes. Kipu Health fits a residential treatment center that needs admissions and bed count tools.
Sunwave fits a treatment center that wants records, admissions marketing, and billing in one system.
