Matt DiBlasi started Abyde in 2016 after working at an IT services firm on Long Island that served eye care practices. Many of those clients were being audited for HIPAA and asked their IT company for help. Abyde grew from that work into software for practices without a compliance team.

Abyde sells four products: HIPAA for covered entities, OSHA for healthcare, HIPAA for business associates, and a stand-alone security risk analysis. The software walks staff through a plain-language risk assessment and builds policies and forms from the answers. Updates follow federal and state rule changes.

Staff take training videos and quizzes in the same portal, and vendor agreements can be signed and tracked there. Customers get live chat, support tickets, and incident response help from compliance staff at no extra cost.

Abyde says no customer has failed an audit or paid money back to regulators. It serves dental, eye care, dermatology, and many other specialties, and it works with state associations and resellers.

Compliancy Group fits practices and business associates that want hands-on help and coding audits alongside HIPAA. Clearwater fits mid-sized groups and health systems that want risk analysis with consulting. Defendify fits offices that also need threat detection and security testing.
