Arintra

Nitesh Shroff is a machine learning engineer and co-founder and chief executive of Arintra, a company whose AI codes patient charts for health systems inside their electronic health records. He spent more than ten years in Silicon Valley building computer vision systems, at companies including Qualcomm and Zoox, before turning to medical billing.

Building Computer Vision Systems

He worked at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and earned a PhD in machine learning at the University of Maryland, and he holds more than 30 patents and publications.

His industry work took him through Cisco, Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories, and Qualcomm's research group. He was a founding engineer at Light, a camera technology company, and an early engineer at Zoox, the self-driving vehicle company Amazon later bought.

Co-founding Arintra

He started Arintra with Preeti Bhargava to apply language AI to medical coding, and the company went through Y Combinator in early 2022. Its name came from a pulmonologist who called their first idea an "Artificially Intelligent Triage Assistant." Arintra now codes charts automatically inside Epic and athenahealth and checks them against payer rules before claims go out.
