Strong fit

  • Chiropractic clinics that need documentation, scheduling, and billing built for chiropractic in one system
  • Chiropractic groups with several clinics that want the same charts and claims everywhere, without a hospital EHR
  • Buyers comparing EHR and practice management systems built for chiropractic, not general outpatient templates

Weak fit

  • Multi-specialty medical groups that need a full ambulatory EHR for physicians
  • Hospital inpatient charting programs
  • Buyers who only need patient texting

Bottom line

ChiroTouch is worth using for chiropractic practices tired of general EHRs that ignore chiropractic documentation and billing. It suits clinics ready for a full system change. Primary care practices that want a modern general outpatient EHR should look elsewhere.

ChiroTouch is a chiropractic EHR and practice management system. It covers documentation, scheduling, and billing for chiropractic clinics.

It is narrow on purpose, much as DentiMax is built for dental practices. It is not a modern general outpatient system for primary care like Canvas.

Results look strongest when notes get finished on time, the schedule fills, and more claims are paid on first submission after the switch.

Since a 2023 acquisition, ChiroTouch has been part of PracticeTek. Buyers should ask how the product will keep developing under the parent company. Moving to it is a clinic system change, and pricing is set for each practice.

Among clinical systems we review, ChiroTouch scores close to DentiMax and above DrChrono for chiropractic fit. DentiMax is another specialty system for a different field, and Office Practicum fits pediatric practices.

The score reflects a solid specialty fit, with a caveat about its ownership.

Prerequisites for purchase

NeedWhy it matters
What you need to get ChiroTouch to function
A named chiropractor and office manager to lead itProjects left to the vendor stall at note templates.
A clean list of services, payers, and the templates you must haveGeneric charts bring back the problems of your old EHR.
Agreement on which data moves over (active patients only, or full history)Trying to move everything delays the launch.
A billing lead ready to test claims in both systemsLaunching without testing claims hurts cash flow.
Training time blocked off on the scheduleTraining only after hours leads to side charts.
What will maximize your value
Measure how long notes take and how many claims are paid on first submissionA good demo is not a result.
Stop adding custom templates in the first monthEndless customizing brings back the mess.
Bill a set group of claims in both systemsBetter to find problems in week two than in month four.
Turn off the old EHR login after the switch weekendEntering everything twice doubles the cost.
Review incomplete charts daily for two weeksUnfinished notes pile up quietly.
Deal-breakers
You need a hospital EHR for many specialties.
No clinician will lead the template work.
You will not plan how data moves over.
Billing will not test claims before the switch.
You only need patient texting, not an EHR.
