Vineeta Agarwala

Vineeta Agarwala is a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where she leads investments across biotech, life-sciences software, and digital health. She is a physician who still sees patients at Stanford, and she previously built oncology data products at Flatiron Health.

An MD and PhD at Harvard

She earned a bachelor's degree in biophysics from Stanford. She holds an MD and a PhD from Harvard Medical School and MIT, completed an internal medicine residency at Stanford, and is board certified in internal medicine.

Product Management at Flatiron Health

She has worked as a physician, a data scientist, and a management consultant to biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical-device clients at McKinsey. Her research postings included Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the Broad Institute, where her graduate work was in computational biology and human genetics. She was a director of product management at Flatiron Health, later acquired by Roche, and led its partnership with Foundation Medicine to join real-world clinical records with genomic data for oncology research. She was also an investor on the GV life sciences team.

Her bio and health investments are in companies that use distinct technologies and datasets for drug development, personalized medicine, and care delivery. Board seats include Amber Bio, BigHat Biosciences, Gate Bio, GC Therapeutics, knownwell, Orbital Therapeutics, Pearl Health, Pomelo Care, Rezo Therapeutics, Thyme Care, and Waymark. She also sits on the board of Tenet Healthcare and is board chair of the National Venture Capital Association. She continues to see patients at Stanford as an adjunct clinical professor in the Division of Primary Care and Population Health.
