Varun Krishnamurthy is co-founder and chief executive of Assured, a New York, New York, company whose AI software handles provider credentialing and payer enrollment so clinicians can start seeing patients sooner.
Running a Virtual Sleep Clinic
He studied at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. With Rahul Shivkumar he built Dawn Health, a virtual sleep clinic, where the metric they watched most was how fast a newly hired clinician could see a first patient. Verifying credentials held that up. "It routinely took months, not because the work was overly complex, but it was very error-prone, manual, and handled by armies of people," he said.
Founding Assured
Dawn Health was acquired in late 2023, and the next year the pair founded Assured to build the credentialing system they had wanted. Its software checks credentials across more than 2,000 primary sources and can fully credential a provider in two business days. Once it passed 100 healthcare customers, Insight Partners led its $19 million Series A in July 2026, with First Round Capital and Kindred Ventures joining.
