Steve Worrell

Chief Executive Officer

Riverain Technologies

Steve Worrell is chief executive of Riverain Technologies, a company in the Dayton, Ohio area that makes software to find disease on chest X-rays and CT scans. He joined as vice president of research in 2007, after building mammography detection software at iCAD, and he has led Riverain since 2013.

Detecting Breast Cancer at iCAD

Before Riverain he was a principal developer of iCAD's SecondLook, a computer-aided detection system for mammography. His piece of that work was the detector for microcalcifications, the small calcium deposits that can be an early sign of breast cancer. Earlier still he built model-based vision systems for military synthetic-aperture radar.

He became chief executive in 2013 after joining in 2007 as vice president of research. At Riverain his work has been developing and selling the company's X-ray and CT lines, software that points a reader to a finding on a chest image so it is less likely to be missed.
