RXNT

Randy Boldyga is founder, president, and chief executive of RXNT, an Annapolis, Maryland company he started in 1999 so a physician could prescribe electronically instead of on a pad. He grew up in Annapolis, studied mathematics at UMBC, and had run clinical computing at a hospital before the company.

Growing Up in Annapolis, Maryland

He was born in Annapolis, Maryland. He graduated from Annapolis High School in 1984 and earned a degree in mathematics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in 1988.

Founding RXNT in 1999

He was an information-technology consultant to government agencies, including the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, and the FBI. He then managed a team of about 70 in the clinical health information systems department at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and he led IT operations at The Columbia Bank in Maryland. He founded RXNT in May 1999 to make prescribing safer. He worked with physicians, pharmacies, and pharmacy benefit managers on the standards those parties now use when a prescription moves electronically. The suite has since grown past prescribing into a record, scheduling, and billing tools for ambulatory practices. From 2014 to 2016 he sat on the Anne Arundel Economic Development Board.
