From Stanford to Apple
He earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Stanford. He spent thirteen years at Apple, including as vice president of worldwide product marketing and vice president of the PowerBook division, and then was senior vice president of Motorola's internet and networking group.
Building Airvana
From 2000 to 2014 he was president and chief executive of Airvana, which he grew from a startup to a 400-person company and the number-two supplier of CDMA infrastructure software for carriers such as Verizon and Sprint. In 2004 he won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for New England technology.
Co-founding PreVeil
He co-founded PreVeil in 2015 and has been chief executive since. The products, Drive and Mail, are built so a regulated sender can collaborate without standing up a separate encryption appliance. To handle lost keys, PreVeil uses distributed trust, so that three of ten administrators, for example, must agree before access is granted. "Ease of use is the fundamental key to getting encryption adopted," he said.
