HHAeXchange
Paul Joiner is chief executive of HHAeXchange. HHAeXchange's software covers scheduling, billing, and electronic visit verification for home-care agencies, health plans, and state Medicaid programs, so those programs can confirm that a home visit happened. He came to home care from health plan data and behavioral health software.
Health Plan Data at Availity
He spent six years as chief operating officer of Availity, working closely with health plans. "I understand the health plan world and how data infrastructure supports value-based care," he said.
Running Kipu Health
In 2021 he became chief executive of Kipu Health, which makes electronic records for addiction treatment and mental health providers. He led the formation of teams that improved product and service delivery there.
Leading HHAeXchange
On May 22, 2023, the HHAeXchange board in New York appointed him chief executive, succeeding Greg Strobel, who had held the job for eight years. He said he wanted to keep "improving care services and eliminating waste in healthcare." In 2025 HHAeXchange bought Sandata and moved into a new headquarters in Manhattan, built around shared meeting space. "We valued a large, multi-purpose meeting space over individual office space," he said, and the company keeps schedules flexible for people such as single parents.
