Nathan Barz

Founder and CEO

DocVA

Nathan Barz is founder and chief executive of DocVA, which places virtual assistants in medical offices in the United States and Canada. He studied at the Wharton School, worked at Barclays, and built the company around the staffing crunch he saw in clinics after the pandemic.

From Wharton to Barclays

He earned a bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to Barclays Investment Bank, advising chief executives of businesses under financial and operational stress.

Starting DocVA

After Barclays he focused on how clinics staffed themselves after the pandemic, drawing on his own experience as an employer of virtual assistants. The company places assistants in doctors' offices so a practice can cover phones, scheduling, and paperwork without hiring locally for every seat. DocVA has placed more than 1,000 assistants in hundreds of offices across North America.
