Chief Executive Officer
Nym
Lori M. Jones is chief executive of Nym, a New York City, New York company whose autonomous coding engine reads a patient chart and assigns the billing codes for that encounter, the step a provider needs before it can send a claim. She spent more than two decades selling and scaling medical billing software before taking the job in April 2026.
Commercial Roles in Medical Billing Software
She earned a business degree from The Ohio State University. She was chief commercial officer at Agiliti Health and at Connance, now part of Waystar, and president of Olive AI, where she led the company's commercial work with providers. In December 2024 she joined Aptarro, formerly Alpha II, as chief growth officer over sales, partnerships, marketing, product, and customer success. She has served on the board of the American Diabetes Association.
Taking Over at Nym
Nym made her chief executive on April 21, 2026. Its engine codes an encounter in seconds with no coder in the loop, and the company does research and development in Tel Aviv, Israel. "What excites me about Nym is that it has built a truly differentiated autonomous coding platform at a time when healthcare providers are under increasing operational and financial pressure," she said.
Her view is that the vendor has to own the change inside the customer. She has watched two health systems buy identical technology and get different results. "The technology is identical. The outcomes aren't," she wrote. "It wasn't the software or the coding team. It was whether the vendor led the operational and change-management work before go-live."
