Ken Ernsting

Chief Executive Officer

Solutionreach

Ken Ernsting is chief executive of Solutionreach. Solutionreach makes patient-engagement software for medical, dental, and vision practices. Practices use it to send appointment reminders and two-way texts, so their patients get a note about an upcoming visit and can write back.

Operating Healthcare Software Companies

Before Solutionreach, he was chief operating officer at HHAeXchange, which makes software for home-care agencies and the health plans that pay them. Before that he was chief operating officer at ABILITY Network, which connected healthcare providers and payers, through its sale to Inovalon for $1.2 billion in 2018. Earlier he held leadership roles at Sage, Emdeon, and WebMD.

Leading Solutionreach

Jim Higgins founded the company in 2000, in Lehi, Utah, south of Salt Lake City, to send appointment reminders by text. Higgins stayed on the board when Solutionreach appointed Ernsting chief executive in August 2023. In August 2026 the company launched Stella, an AI receptionist that answers calls and books appointments. "AI has enormous potential for healthcare practices, but it has to solve real problems and fit into the systems that practices already use every day," he said.
