He built a group of technology companies in Winter Haven: iThink Partners, an IT consultancy; Elephant Outlook, an email security firm; Inland Fiber and Data, a data center and disaster recovery business; Doculex, a document management company; and Protected Trust, an information security firm. In 2013 he began placing all five under Protected Trust as the parent company, with every business still based in Winter Haven.
Leading Protected Trust
That November Protected Trust became an industry partner of Florida Polytechnic University and funded two scholarships for its students. "We believe in its focus on applied learning in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics," he said. The company now focuses on secure email, with business associate agreements and proof of delivery for organizations that handle patient data.
