Guillaume Castel

Chief Executive Officer

PerfectServe

Guillaume Castel is chief executive of PerfectServe, which routes clinical calls and messages and builds physician schedules for hospitals. He took the job in July 2019 after business-development roles at Inova Health System and the Advisory Board Company.

From France to IBM and Cisco

He grew up in France and earned an MBA in finance from the Institut d'Administration des Entreprises. He spent seven years at IBM, from finance and operations in IBM Global Services to corporate development at headquarters, and then six years at Cisco Systems, where he rose to director of business development and worked on joint venture deals.

A Turn to Healthcare

He then joined the Advisory Board Company, a healthcare best-practices firm in Washington, D.C., where he ran its partnership program and was part of the team that arranged the sale of its Performance Technology portfolio. He went on to become vice president of business development at Inova Health System, a nonprofit in Northern Virginia with five hospitals and more than 18,000 employees, where he negotiated two of its larger recent expansions.

Leading PerfectServe

Since July 2019 he has pushed PerfectServe on scheduling and communication, including the PerfectServe Unite platform, which puts messaging and the on-call schedule in one place so a nurse reaches the right clinician. Under him the company bought Telmediq and Lightning Bolt, a scheduling product, and it has customers in Canada and Ireland. He sits on the boards of the Heifer Foundation, Fraym.io, and Grapevine Health.
