Cyril Di Grandi is co-founder and chief executive of Avicenna.AI, a radiology AI company in La Ciotat, France, a town on the Mediterranean coast. With radiologist Peter Chang he builds tools that flag urgent findings on a CT so a team can act before the study sits in a queue.

He is a software and medical-device specialist. He and Peter Chang, a radiologist and AI researcher, formed the company in 2018 and incorporated it in La Ciotat that June. The company builds radiology software meant to shorten the time between a scan and a treatment decision.
The company has nine cleared AI products, installations at 300 sites, and use in 16 countries. Early regulatory marks, in February 2020, covered CINA-ICH and CINA-LVO, tools for bleeding inside the skull and for a large-vessel blockage in the brain. By 2022 more than 140 hospitals in 14 countries had bought its software, and in early 2023 it raised a €7 million Series A co-led by CEMAG Invest and Innovacom. "We have created the conditions to accelerate the extension of our portfolio within our emergency suite but also outside our initial scope," he said. Chang is co-founder and chief medical officer.
