Carina Edwards is chief executive of Kipu Health. KipuEMR is the company's electronic health record for addiction treatment and other behavioral health care. A treatment center uses it to follow a patient from the first call through admission, care, follow-up, and the bill.
From Philips to Quil
She earned a bachelor's degree in management information systems and decision sciences from George Mason University and an MBA from Boston College. She held executive roles at Philips Healthcare, Zynx Health, and Nuance, then at Imprivata, where she built its customer-experience organization. She went on to run Quil, a joint venture of Comcast NBCUniversal and Independence Blue Cross, and the Philadelphia Business Journal honored her as a Woman of Distinction.
Becoming Kipu's Chief Executive
On August 21, 2023, Kipu appointed her chief executive. She said on joining, "At Kipu, we have an obligation to make providers' lives easier so they can deliver the critical treatments patients need at the right time." KipuEMR is a HITRUST-certified record and billing system, in use by more than 80,000 users at more than 1,600 facilities.
