Brian Hogan is chief executive of Fellow Health, which runs mail-in semen analysis and vasectomy testing through a CLIA-certified lab. He became chief executive in July 2024 after a short run as the company's chief financial officer.
From Banking to Life Sciences
He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from California State University, Sacramento, and an MBA from Saint Mary's College of California. He began as an internal auditor at Bank of America, and after a decade in financial services he joined a company developing an HIV/AIDS vaccine. "While the Phase III trial failed, I discovered the industry where I wanted to devote the rest of my career," he said.
Finance Chief to Chief Executive
He went on to finance leadership at Genomic Health and Portola Pharmaceuticals and served as chief financial officer of Adicet Bio, Clear Labs, and InterVenn Biosciences. He joined Fellow as chief financial officer in early 2024 and took over as chief executive that July. Fellow was founded after its founder struggled through months of clinic appointments for a baseline semen test, and it now offers full semen analysis, post-vasectomy testing, and cryopreservation by mail.
