Andy Olson is co-founder and chief executive of Inherent Biosciences, whose Path Fertility brand tests male fertility beyond a microscope count of sperm. He previously worked on diagnostics for rare genetic disease in children and on molecular tests for infections.
Testing Male Fertility
In 2018 a couple, Emily and Bronson, had spent about $80,000 and two years trying to conceive, labeled unexplained infertility, while Bronson had only a semen sample read under a microscope, a method dated to the 1950s. The company set out to close that gap.
Co-founder and chief scientific officer Kristin Brogaard did her doctorate on an epigenetic method for seeing how chromatin regulates genes. She later helped launch Arivale, a wellness company that paired laboratory data with coaching.
