Anar Isman is co-founder and chief executive of AgelessRx. AgelessRx is a telemedicine practice for longevity. Its clinicians prescribe drugs such as metformin, rapamycin, and GLP-1 medicines after an assessment and, when the recommendation needs it, blood work. The prescriptions are aimed at slowing the damage that accumulates with age.
Fifteen Years in Investing
He spent 15 years at investment funds. In his early thirties he decided he wanted to build something. He could not think of anything more important than slowing aging, which he defined as the accumulation of age-related damage over time. When he struggled to get a clinician to prescribe his mother a medication with potential longevity benefits, he saw how hard it was for healthy people to get that kind of care. He left investment management in 2020 and co-founded AgelessRx with a physician co-founder, later joined by Jonn Behrman. "To me, longevity and anti-aging, it's not an industry, it's not a sector. It's a movement," he said.
Building AgelessRx
The assessment on the site runs to about 50 questions on diet, exercise, sleep, family history, and similar habits. A person can order a blood test through AgelessRx or upload results they have. Blood work is still what makes a recommendation precise, and every product the company handles requires a prescription. He put the share of American adults who both knew about this kind of care and wanted it at about 2 to 3 percent.
