Amanda Sharp is chief executive of AdvancedMD, a Utah company that sells cloud-based electronic health record, practice-management and billing software to independent medical practices.
From Intern to President
She joined AdvancedMD as an intern more than 18 years before becoming its chief executive, and held leadership roles including vice president of strategy and business development before becoming president in 2019. Becker's Hospital Review listed her among its Women in Health IT to Know in 2024.
Chief Executive After the Francisco Partners Sale
Francisco Partners completed its acquisition of AdvancedMD in December 2024, and in March 2025 the company promoted her to chief executive. "Our employees are the heart and soul of AdvancedMD, and I couldn't be happier to lead this group, now as CEO," she said. AdvancedMD software is used by more than 65,000 practitioners.
