Koios Medical vs ScreenPoint Medical

Updated October 20, 2026

AI software now helps radiologists find breast cancer earlier and decide which findings need a biopsy, and many breast centers are pricing it for the first time. Koios Medical and ScreenPoint Medical both sell breast cancer AI, yet they work on different exams: ScreenPoint reads the screening mammograms most women get, while Koios reads the ultrasound done after something looks suspicious. Many centers could use both, so we compared where each one fits and how strong its evidence is.

Our analysts compared Koios Medical and ScreenPoint Medical on the exams each reads, what the software does, clinical evidence, workflow fit, and pricing clarity, using the HIR review of each company and ScreenPoint's own announcements this year. In the following sections, we compare them in one table, describe the imaging program each one suits, and list what ScreenPoint has announced recently.

What the software doesGives readers a second opinion on breast lesions and thyroid nodules to guide biopsy decisions.Marks areas that may be cancer and scores each exam from 1 to 10, so radiologists can read the riskiest exams first.

Which fits which buyer

Start with the exam where your readers need the most help.

Choose Koios Medical if

  • Your breast or thyroid ultrasound readers want a consistent second opinion.
  • You plan to track how many biopsies find cancer and how often readers agree.
  • Your thyroid nodule work needs decision support too.

Choose ScreenPoint Medical if

  • You read a large volume of screening mammograms or tomosynthesis exams.
  • You want AI backed by a randomized trial.
  • You want a risk score on each exam so the riskiest are read first.

Verdict

ScreenPoint Medical scores far higher and fits breast screening programs that want trial-backed AI in mammography reading. Koios Medical fits ultrasound programs that want a second reader for breast and thyroid findings and will track results locally.

The two cover different exams, so a center that buys ScreenPoint can still weigh Koios for ultrasound.

Where the two tools are headed in 2027 and beyond

ScreenPoint Medical: ScreenPoint Medical made Transpara available through Ferrum Health's AI governance platform on January 13, 2026. It raised new funding from Insight Partners and Siemens Healthineers on April 17, 2026, along with research grants, to expand its breast cancer work.

Ask ScreenPoint which parts of the Transpara suite are cleared for US use at your site.

Methodology

Each row comes from the HIR reviews of Koios Medical and ScreenPoint Medical, scored under the HIR method, and from each vendor's public pricing where it exists. Any published price for Koios Medical or ScreenPoint Medical was checked on that vendor's own site on October 20, 2026.

A green check marks a clear edge for Koios Medical or ScreenPoint Medical only where their review scores differ by at least 0.3 points or the two reviews show a plain difference. Rows with nothing published for either Koios Medical or ScreenPoint Medical are left out, and time to full value for each adds up the rollout stages in its review.
