CertifyOS vs Medversant
Updated October 20, 2026
Health plans must verify each doctor's license, training, and sanctions history before adding them to a network, then check again every few years, and most plans hand part of that work to an outside company. CertifyOS and Medversant both do it for plans, but they differ more than their service lists suggest: CertifyOS sells a data platform a plan's own team can run through an API, while Medversant credentials providers for the plan with its own staff, as it has for decades. That decides how much control and speed a plan gets, so we compared the two.
Our analysts compared CertifyOS and Medversant on what you buy, who each serves, scale, network tools, and results, using the HIR review of each company and each vendor's own website checked this month. In the following sections, we compare them in one table, describe the plan each one suits, and note CertifyOS's new shared credentialing program.

Where the two tools are headed in 2027 and beyond
CertifyOS: CertifyOS launched SharedCred in September 2026, a shared credentialing program with UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Centene as founding partners, so a provider completes one process that several plans can use. It comes online in fall 2026 with more than 1.4 million providers in scope.
Plans outside the founding partners should ask when they can join and what it costs.
Methodology
Each row comes from the HIR reviews of CertifyOS and Medversant, scored under the HIR method, and from each vendor's public pricing where it exists. Any published price for CertifyOS or Medversant was checked on that vendor's own site on October 20, 2026.
A green check marks a clear edge for CertifyOS or Medversant only where their review scores differ by at least 0.3 points or the two reviews show a plain difference. Rows with nothing published for either CertifyOS or Medversant are left out, and time to full value for each adds up the rollout stages in its review.
